If Iowa football got the death penalty

Capacity of Bearcat Stadium is 6,500 but the average attendence is 9,000 when you count standing room. When Northwest plays Pitts State at Arrowhead in Kansas City that game has 25,000 people show up. That is very high for D-II
Again, I am in no way saying it compares to an Iowa game I am just saying beyond Iowa I don't give a crap about any other BCS school so I go to my Alma Mater after that. :)

Nothing at all wrong with that. I live in the Burlington area and come basketball season, regardless of how well Iowa is playing, I would still rather attend SCC basketball games. It may be Juco, but like you said it's part of who you are.
 




My first thought was that I would want to be a fan of a team that I could go watch. So ISU makes sense right? But I'm a Cubs fan, so I can't take that much losing for an entire year, plus Clone fans are ridiculous, and going to their games is basically like going to a high school stadium. I would want to cheer for a Midwest team. Wisconsin is the program most like Iowa. I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit. I don't think I could have another favorite team.
 


I think the fact that Iowa and Wisky's programs are so much alike and comepetive is what makes the rivalry what it is. The teams practically mirror eachother which I think is why there is so much respect and competition between fanbases. I hate not having them in our division.

Your hypothetical situation highlights one of the benefits of having dual loyalties. I would cheer on my Volunteers until my Hawkeyes were back.
 


I wouldnt have to worry about it. After I killed the individual(s) responsible, a lengthy prison sentence will almost certainly follow (unless I get a Hawkeye judge;)).
I dont think they show football in Lockdown. Do they?
 


Iowa. The is no other option.

Nobody gets the death penalty anymore. U$C and O$U compensated players and only had to get rid of a coach and a few schollies. Those penalties proved so severe to U$C that the school only able to have a top 10 recruiting class.
 


If we didn't have a program anymore, I'd go with Oklahoma (provided that Stoops is still the coach).

What if Northwestern gave you a full ride scholarship to a newly formed Michael Wilbon sports journalism grad school program at Medill?

I would probably switch to purple for NU. My guess is that the results will shake out like this:

40% - Nebraska
40% - Iowa State
10% - Minnesota
1% - Wisconsin
3% - Illinois or Missourrah
1% - Northwestern
5% - Other/give up on college football

If the morons from Pinellas County can't convict Casey Anthony, AND the morons from the NCAA can't give the "death" penalty to USC and half the SEC, there is absolutely NO way IOWA will ever get the death penalty.

And even if they did, Baez and Mumbles Mason would get it overturned.
