IF Cezar does NOT commit...

Will this be one of the most hyped, potential commits we've had, and then lost out on in awhile? It just seems like all the signs are pointing to him coming to Iowa, but it hasn't been official yet.. and it just seems as if he DOES NOT commit to Iowa, then it's going to rip the heart right out of HawkeyeNation.

Or is it just me?

We've been jilted enough times before I don't think one more rejection will hurt that badly.

That said, it would be great to get this kid.

I would be very disappointed but I don't think all would be lost. There are plenty of other athletic point guards with potential Fran is still after. I personally would take Cez over anyone else at this moment but until he commits (if he does) it is still wide open

It won't be the end of the world! Fran will find somebody. A year ago at this time who the hell had ever heard of Bryce Cartwright.

This. And we're still in on Eli Carter, too. I prefer Cezar, but Carter is a very good player too.

I don't think all signs are pointing to him coming to Iowa. We put on the best show possible for him (upsetting Purdue) but I haven't read anything about how the visit went or that he is now leaning our way. I'd say we have a 50 percent chance if Kansas doesn't offer him fully.

I'm pretty sure it's just you. With all due respect if your hapieness hinges on an 18 year old kids decision of where he's going to school you need to seek professional help.

I'm not speaking of my life? I'm speaking of my passion for Hawkeye Sports. You're pretty mistaken.

It is Hawkeyenation afterall......I don't think any signs are pointing toward Iowa. He's got a few others on his list and to be honest if they offer, Iowa doesn't stand much of a chance. He's a possibility, but don't hold your breath.

Who knows what he wants. Western Kentucky, Okla and OK St? We will all know in 5-6 painful weeks who will come in. Nobody will probably commit now until signing week.

Well I am glad that there are highly talented kids THINKING about coming to Iowa after the last 5 years or so. I was thinking for a while there that my son (a FB player) might be able to get a scholly from Lick we were so bad. He has never played BB in high school.

Actually, I might be in the minority, but I don't think Cezar is "THE" answer. I think he would be a nice piece of the puzzle, but I don't think he fits the biggest immediate need. I could see Iowa getting a really productive big and a big scoring combo guard and then get some guys to commit in 2012, which could bring in the PG of the future.

That being said, the Cully factor is still in question.

Does anyone else get the feeling with how hard Fran seems to be going after another top PG that this is his way of saying he doesn't think Cully has what it takes to lead this offense the way he wants? I like the fact that Fran realizes PG is the most important position on the floor.

No. I think it is Fran's way of getting a kid a year of experience behind Cartwright, and having them both be able to play with Cully for a season. I think it is common knowledge that Cully will be a 2 and back up Cartwright. I don't think it's a slight on Cully, but he's just better as a 2 that can play PG when needed. I don't think even this year Cully was going to be the number 1 option at point.

I think the Cully factor has a lot of variables. Will he be the same after he comes back? If so, is he the kind of PG Fran wants? Is he better at 2? There are just a lot of questions yet to answer.

I think this place will lash out if we don't get him because at least 50% of you think we already have him. I mean, go look through some old posts, and check how many already mention next year's line up like he's a given?
