Yeah, why are you turning left and right when the answer is right in front of you? This kind of stuff just blows my horn off. No wonder kids think Iowa is the bumper end of donkey. Geesh.

2/3 felons are rearrested after their stint in prison. This is a risk. I have no problem with Fran taking this risk if he thinks Hubbard can stay on the straight and narrow. However, all the garbage about other schools being "Transfer U" and "Thug U" need to end. Us taking Hubbard makes most these other schools look like choir boys.
You don't bring in Juco players with 2 years of elegibility to be off the bench role players. He's our starting wing next year and our lineup (based on who's on the roster today) will be..
Cartwright
Gatens
Hubbard
Basabe
Brommer
You don't bring in 26 year old jucos who have spent 4 years in prison to come off the bench.
As harsh as this reads, its pretty much stone cold reality. There is a reason why Hubbard has been given several scholarship offers and at some high major programs, and its not because he had a 3.2 gpa at the Juco level

Me and the rest of the country.
I would be willing to write these players down in pen with regards to the starting lineup:
Hubbard
Cartwright
Basabe
Gatens
Depending on how well forward plays the small forward position, Iowa will have some options. Stick another guard on the court and go 'small' if Hubbard can play 'big'. Need a shooter? Oglesby. Need a big? Brommer and Archie. Need a bit of both? Perhaps Aaron White...wanna run? Throw in Devyn Marble or Eric May and or others.
Hubbard is the kind of player that might be able to drastically increase the options available to the coach in how to play depending on the opponent. Again, were he just an average or 'good' Juco player, Iowa would not have taken a chance on him. He's a really good player.

Remember this past year Neither Gatens or Cartwright were scorching the nets from three point land and we have been told that Hubbard isn't particularily good at three point land. You look at that line up and you got say man where is our three point shooter out of those five. I know some are thinking Hubbard will cause a defense to sag on him which will leave Gatens open for the three. The problem is we have seen Matt miss a lot of open three point shots.
In my opinion the first game starters look like this:
Is anybody else with me and think that we are not going to see very much of Eric May this season?
There is a log jam at the 2/3 spots with Gatens, Hubbard, Marble and Oglesby. Is May only looking at a handful of minutes per game?
Mostly agree, but I think it will be Marble and not Brommer in there. Brommer is, at best a role player, he's not a big 10 starter. You don't bring in Juco players with 2 years of elegibility to be off the bench role players. Totally agree. I think the 5th guy will be Marble. (Brommer is not a big 10 player. Marble is better than May and McCabe.)I would be willing to write these players down in pen with regards to the starting lineup:

Eric May is superior to Devyn Marble in every thing except for ball handling, which isn't all that important at the three spot.
He's a better defender, a better shooter (from the field, arch, and line), he's better in transition, and he's at least a wash as a rebounder. I'm not sure what those of you who clearly place Marble ahead of him are thinking?
I think we are all expecting to see a huge improvement in Marble's game this offseason. He was a high school senior playing in the Big 10 last year (age wise).
