Hawkeyes pounding pavement for 2011 recruits

Haven't read the article yet, but Van Coleman was on with Larry Cotlar on 1700 The Champ, today...and he said there are over 20 kids who have Iowa on their lists of schools...like they were saying, "it doesn't mean they'll get any of them...but to have that many kids looking at your program is a good thing"...this staff is busting their nuts on the recruiting trail.

Edit: Holy Deja Vu, Batman!

If there is antone out there in Hawkeye land that doesn't believe in Fran yet I would be amazed! This guy and his staff are working their tails off trying to get the players in and turn this program around. It's going to eb a fun ride!!

I don't know why McCaffery is going after athletes & shooters. Obviously, they won't come to Iowa. Plus, Iowa doesn't need those type of players to win in the Big Ten. Oops, that was Lickliter.

The more I read & hear about McCaffery, the more he reminds me of Lute. Iowa hasn't had this type of recruiting effort by the coaches since the days of Lute & Raveling.

I love the effort. McCaffery will probably get into trouble with Barta for exceeding his recruiting budget. Unlike Lickliter, McCaffery realizes that players win games & not the system.

To quote one of my favorite announcers, "I love it, I love it, I love it."

If he starts producing on the court, then Barta can shove that Budget up his ***.

I like that McCaffery realizes its easier to win with good players. His philosophy seems to be to get good players, provide a little structure, motivate them, and then get out of their way.

If he starts producing on the court, then the ticket sales increase, the concession revenues increase, the merchandising revenues increase, and the recruiting budget will increase.

Winning cures pretty much every ill, and Fran will win at Iowa. Bank on it.

Oh I see...bank humor...from a banker...:p
