Has there ever been a BTen Center like Banks...

I grew up in the middle of the Johnny Gosch disappearance era. No hitchhiking for this skinny middle schooler.

I warned my children about the Johnny Gosch problem and told them that when they were walking
in the neighborhood and a van slowed down or seemed to be pacing them to immediately go to
the nearest house and bang on the door and stay inside until the vehicle was gone

At the risk of sending anyone down a rabbit hole, CNN did an investigation and very lengthy article on Gosch last year that basically put forward reasonably credible, albeit not verified, evidence that Gosch was alive, married, and living in hiding, having survived a kidnapping and complex sex ring involving dangerous people. If you grew up in Iowa in the 80s, its worth a Google.

His mom swears on her life hw showed up to her house in his mid 20s to explain what happened and left again, he was with an older male who just sat there and didn't say anything and left with him. Super weird.

The story has a lot of twists and turns for sure. There was a ton of police apathy and incompetence at play. The guy in the story that claims he was in the same child sex trafficing ring, he knew Gosch, and has seen him many times as an adult with a family in hiding, is sort of a weird dude, but he lives just outside of Omaha pretty close to where I live. The police have generally not engaged with the guy.

I read that piece when it came out a couple years ago. Fascinating.

I recall - maybe in the late 90s or something - when there was an article or two out there about how Gosch's mom had claimed her son had shown up on their doorstep as an adult. And I remember thinking how sad. Like the event and subsequent PTSD had consumed her so much that she was now delusional. I didn't think she was lying, but I thought there was absolutely zero percent chance her kid had shown up on her door in his 20s.

Now, I don't know. I tend to slightly lean towards thinking it actually happened.

The CNN coverage is a great piece of investigative journalism. His mom comes off completely bright-eyed, grounded and resilient. There is no greater strength or endurance than what moms can summon when their child has been harmed.

There are also a ton of layers and far more leads and details than I ever realized before that CNN piece came out. And while I am generally not a big conspiracy guy, it's hard not to view the Gosch case through the lens of the Epstein crimes, cover-up and corruption. I hope his mom gets some answers or at least closure one day.
