NCAA Tournament was better when it included best players - ESPN
Wow, do I miss the days when the NCAA tourny was filled with star players and great teams.
I really hope the NBA and NCAA can get together and maybe adopt a rule similiar to baseball in which a player can go pro right out of highschool but if he signs a LOI, he isn't eligible to be drafted for 3 years.
However guys will still go overseas and get paid like Brandon Jennings.
10 years ago Duke played Arizona in the final featuring Williams, Boozer, Battier, Arenas, & Jefferson. All except Williams are still good NBA players and he suffered a horrific injury. I'm not sure there is a single player in college better than any one of those guys.
Those teams even had great role players like Dunleavy, Duhan, Walton, Gardner & Wright. I wonder if there is a player in college today who would even start on either one of those teams?
Interesting note to end: Had he not be in that horrible car wreck, Luke Recker would have been on that Arizona team.
