South Sioux City Cardinals and Mike Gessell won their second straight state championship. I found it interesting how confident the announcers were that he would choose Nebraska. I would love to see him as a Hawk, but realize it is an uphill battle even with Fran having watched him in his last game. It is hard to compete when your state championship game is played on the Nebraska home court. Nebraska is also getting a new practice facility this year...either way, Congrats, Mike!

If Iowa gets either Cezar or Carter to come to Iowa, he will not be at Iowa, just a feeling. I think Iowa will continue to recruit him, but unless Iowa can't get any other guards to come this Spring, just don't see him a Hawk and that will be okay. It would be good to see him a Hawk, but I don't see anyone losing sleep over it if he isn't.

I heard Doc Sadler may be interested in the Texas Tech job. Anyone know any more about this? He was an assistant there from 91-94 and was also an assistant and the head coach at UTEP from 93-96. We will probably find out soon, Doc Sadler, Tom Osborne to meet, discuss extension

Iowa has also offered Agau in the class of 2013 from Omaha. Akoy Agau - Yahoo! Sports

Sadler has some leverage and will milk it for a better contract from Nebraska, standard springtime coaching move. In this business,in the spring you are either under fire,or extracting more money,or moving on up.

As for Agau, I like this. Would love to get Agau and his AAU buddy Peter Jok as a package deal for the Hawks in 2013. But,as we currently stand,we only have one scholly that year, which is why it is imperative that one of the two remaining schollys this spring go to a juco, which would come open again in 2013. Go get that juco big man,Fran!
