Any thoughts about dual quarterbacks?? It is a possibility ... I know we're all waiting for the next Chuck Long, but it may be a good strategy. More likely needed due to injury or performance anyway.

This makes sense when you have 2 running QB's. More likely to keep both of them healthy.

Or it makes sense if 1 QB is a runner and the other is a passer. You play them situationally. Like Iowa did with Brendan Sullivan in the red zone.

But if you have 2 QB's that are good passers and can't run, then just play the best QB all the time.

Accurate pocket QBs that have a good pocket presence and deliver the ball quickly are incredibly rare at the college level for a team that is a marginal Top 20 team. Tate and Beatherd were both very good pocket passers and both had enough athleticism to use their legs to make plays as well. KF has had a fascination with big armed pocket QBs with very limited ability to run. Stanley, Petras, Hill, etc. They really just do not work unless they can throw like a Manning, which we will never get. IMHO, any QB candidate for Iowa must have at least Drew Tate level scrambling/running ability. Minimum.
