Fitz throws his generals on the sword...

Whether you agree with keeping Fitz or not, his job is probably pretty safe. He has a lot of credibility based on playing there and all of the success he's had as head coach Their defense really fell off when that long time D-Coordinator retired a couple of years ago. He didn't have much choice is getting some new coaching blood in there. Now if he continues with 1-11 type seasons, his seat definitely gets hotter.

Just 2 years ago there were NFL rumors flying around. Fitz should have taken advantage while he had the chance. Being a HC can be very fickle, most fans have short term memories and can turn quickly. We see it on this board all the time.

Can/will he hang around long enough to see the new Ryan Field?
Football has changed and can he and can NW adapt. Around here, it is really apparent that highly educated and intelligent with emotional maturity DO NOT WANT JR TO PLAY FOOTBALL.

NW is not an easy road for athletes academically to attract marginally educated students to play athletics.

Wonder if Leonhard could end up there as DC. I figure Ohio State or Illinois might be likelier if he wants to stay a DC in the conference, although who knows.
