Looking at the entire season. Look, it's debatable. They had the better overall season. I have no problem with where the two teams were ranked.

Surprised at how many people apparently don't understand how these polls work. It's an aggregate of many votes, not AP deciding where teams rank.
Obviously, a number of voters felt Nebraska had the better overall season (as Hayden says above) and ranked them higher. It's not based on one head-to-head game.

We beat Nebbie in the one ranking that counts the most. We tore their hearts out and held it in front of their faces, Indiana Jones style, for the like 10th time in ten years.

That was the single greatest sporting event in the history of the 13.8 billion year old universe.
