FIBA games in Puerto Rico

Did any of you watch any of those? Caitlin was back playing about 20 mins a game and was back to her normal self. She played great and won the MVP of the whole 5 game tourny.

So the last game the USA played Spain. And I don't have a clue how the rules work but somehow Megan Gustafson plays for them and their national team she did in the last Olympics too despite her having no lineage with them. So anyway their was a play where Meg went after a rebound under the USA teams basket and she did the thing you're never supposed to do. As she was off balance and falling out of bounds she saved it underneath the hoop right to Caitlin and she laid it in. If you didn't see it how it happened you'd say she did it on purpose.

So after the game Megan was on X and reposted a clip of it and wrote Go Hawks?? haha. She's so funny. She had a pretty good game I think she had 11 pts hit a 3. It's really cool how she's evolved her game since graduating.

Saw that too. I am sure it was not intentional, she was just trying to save the ball from going out of bounds. But yeah it looked like she was throwing the ball to a wide open Caitlin Clark on purpose, who was right under the basket for an easy 2 points for Team USA.

Overall a good showing for Caitlin Clark for team USA. It was her first official action since she was shut down in the middle of her 2nd WNBA season due to injuries.

Caitlin even won the MVP award for these round of qualifying games. I not sure why you need a MVP award for this round. Its like awarding MVP for the 2nd round of the NCAA basketball tourney. What's the point?

Agreed. But I'm new to all these qualifying games stuff anyway. No idea if all that is new or if it's been this way forever.

What I do know is I bet the ratings for it were incredible and that none of the other qualifying tournys over the years has had however many people watching as these did. That's just more of the Caitlin effect. The stands were pretty empty. However most of who was there all had Clark/Fever or Iowa gear on.
