I just finished my annual read of "75 Years With the Fighting Hawkeyes" by Lamb and McGrane. I read it every year before football season.

Duke Slater was an amazing football player and an amazing man. It's criminal that he rarely gets any notice outside of Hawkeye circles. No less than Red Grange--"Big Ten Icon #1", according to BTN--counted Slater among the most formidable of all his opponents.

I need to get Ronzendaal's book!
