Does anyone else still listen on the radio?

Moving this weekend and not getting cable right away and then will have 2 boys in soccer and football on Saturdays so the radio will be working overtime this year.

Hear This -

On gameday people always post wanting to know a link to a streaming of the broadcast. Mme thinks that some of those asking are narcs who are there undercover to find out which ones are not blacked out that should be blacked out.

So If I have a link and I recognize you I'll PM you with it. No more posting the links.

i watch the game on tv with the volume down and listen to the radio for audio. i've been listening to the radio since a kid, i like to listen to the 'home town guys', plus, i think it is a bit nostalgic for me.

I do the exact same thing. I record the game on my dvr thinking I can listen to the lame commentators when I rewatch the game. I have been listening to the radio for Iowa football and basketball games for more decades than I like to admit. Used to be Zabel or Brooks. Now it's Dolph and Eddie.

Not a narc here. I don't think I get FS1 for Iowa-Isu game. I kindly ask that you recognize me if I pm you for the link.

Hard find anyone who knows more about the Iowa team than Ed P. He has been back in I.C. for his rehab and really knows whats going on. Not mention he knows Football in general

I've taken a radio to the game for years. I really enjoy being able to listen to Eddie. I don't "shut myself off" from the rest of the crowd. In fact, several times a game, someone near me asks what they're saying on the radio about an injury, score or a particular play. I also find the inner-stadium broadcast and I listen to it when we're on the road or at a bowl game. That's really interesting, because there's no commercials and you can often hear Dolph and Eddie discussing things or conversing with guys on the field during time-outs.

It's what I do. I'm always amazed what people on these message boards criticize other people about - it's really not a big deal. Just do what you want, and mind your own frickin' business.

I use to watch the game and have the radio play by play up. However, ran into an issue with a lil delay. lol bad choice! Now it's just the full game up.

and of course the guys who are clothed with great powers on this site can see all PMs - they may really be the enemy with the emenities.

BTW, the only time I listen to the radio while watching is if I want a cheap laugh at how much baloney Dolph makes up about what's going on, vs reality

Yeah, I have noticed Dolph's game calls have been somewhat to quite a bit off the last few years. If the hawks go hurry up this year Dolph might want to go with fewer words to describe the action.

I am an older fan who is a creature of ritual. I have listened to the re-broadcast on WHO on Saturday nites starting at 11 pm for years. I live in Chicago, so I cannot get that signal during the day anyway, but at nite it comes thru fine to Chicago. I love listening to Eddie, who really knows the iowa players and calls out more detail than you get from any other broadcaster. It is a nostalgic fix for me also, since that is how I grew up on the farm in NW Iowa...listening to Iowa games every Saturday was SOP in our household.
