Does an undefeated opponent in the B1G Championship Game matter?

I've heard it on College Football Sunday and read it here: http://espn.go.com/college-football...-shape-college-football-playoff-contenders-in (coincidentally both from the great minds at ESPN) but do you think that if Iowa goes 13-0 but does so by beating either Michigan, MSU, or OSU teams that have sustained a loss, that it is possible we'll get passed over for the final 4 in the CFP? Would "style points" matter in the B1G Championship game?

I know Jon and Steve say absolutely not, but is there any criteria, documented rules, or anything else rock solid aside from last year's precedents that says no, an undefeated Power 5 Conference champ is guarantee CFP team?

Thanks!

13-0 = CFP for Iowa. Its a lock. Let people speculate all they want and drive themselves crazy all they want.

Here's where it lays out for me.....

I don't see any scenario out there (barring one team from each of the 5 major conferences plus Notre Dame going undefeated) where an undefeated, Power 5 conference champion is left out of the CFP. There's no way this committee or any committee is going to want to set that sort of precedent. It's one thing to have 3 well-qualified 1-loss teams fighting for that last spot like last year. It's something entirely different to take a team that has 1 loss and leaving out an undefeated conference champion. It's just not going to happen.

Even if they did leave us out if we were undefeated. If we then win our bowl game, we'll have the national championship banner made and we WILL hang it.

I agree with this in probably 99 out of 100 scenarios you could come up with. I think one loss Alabama and one loss ND over a non blue blood power 5 like Iowa would be that 1 scenario. Not a chance Alabama gets left out. The entire country would flip out if they had to watch Iowa instead of ND.
