Dan Dakich is sick of Iowa state

Iowa state is playing a high scoring iona team that runs and guns. Iowa state is not deep at all and they're playing in high altitude. Then, if they win, they have to play on 1 day rest and bang around inside against a team full of nba quality bigs?

On top of all this monte morris has a bum shoulder?

Good luck with all of that

Do you think Baylor should have been ahead of them? They only had 5 RPI top 50 wins to Iowa State's 7. Texas? Same number of RPI wins but had an anchor TCU loss.

Iowa State was swept by Baylor. Iowa state was 4-9 against the 6 teams from their conference that made the tournament. I think that puts them in 7 seed territory...along with Baylor and Texas.

I never said ISU plays defense, doesn't mean they can't beat Purdue.

Purdue isn't going far in the NCAA tournament, they simply don't have the guard play to advance very far. I would say this no matter who they faced in the NCAA. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if they lose vs Ark. Little Rock in the first round.

I hope both teams win so they play Sunday. One of us is way off base...won't know who until/unless they play.

Hey Mj4cy, this means you must also think that ISU is seeded too high (kenpom would have them a #5 seed) and that Iowa is seeded too low (Kenpom would have them #5 as well).

It also means you think Iowa should have a better seed than:

Maryland
Cal
Duke
Baylor
Seton Hall
Utah
Texas

Because you know Kenpom has Iowa higher than every one of these teams.

You should probably read my post from earlier...would answer a lot of your questions. Yes, I immediately thought they were seeded high.

Your post doesn't answer anything really, just raises more questions. You use every metric BUT Kenpom to say why ISU got a 4 and Iowa a 7. Then you turn to Kenpom as the ONLY metric as to why Iona (a #13 seed) is somehow better than Temple (at #10 seed).

Basically you did what every Clown fan always does. Pretend that ISU is playing the toughest opponent on the planet, that way if you lose you got a built in excuse. I mean how many times did we hear that UAB was soooo much better than a 14 seed......yet UCLA (a crappy team) didn't have any problems whipping their azzes 2 days later.

Iowa State should kill Iona just like they should have killed UAB. If it doesn't happen they were either upset or underperformed.

We are talking about teams that would be among the worst in the big 12.

You might want to take a look at ISU's games against Baylor. Baylor's big men destroyed ISU. Motley scored 27 in both games, 16 points above his season average. McKay might be able to control Hammons, but who is going to match up on Swanigan? And I wouldn't be surprised to see Haas try to rough it up a little to maybe draw McKay and Niang into some retaliation fouls.

"But who's going to guard Niang!?" says every Cyclone fan. Like he's an unstoppable force.

Niang's going to have his hands full on the defensive end against the Purdue bigs. By the middle of the second half he is either going to be in foul trouble, or too gassed to haul his 34C's up and down the court.

I have to believe that ISU at least gets to the Final Four since they won't have the vast Big12 Referee Conspiracy to deal with (which we all know is just a front for the Illuminati). With truly impartial refs, their NBA-like skills can shine through.

What is the over under on NEEang travels in the clowns first round game (called travels of course, not actual travels)
I will set the line at 4.

If I'm the opposing coach, that's one of the last things I say to the ref before tipoff. Watch Niang's feet, he travels every time he touches the ball. Once George gets called for a walk or two his offensive game will be more hesitant. (who doesn't prefer a running start?)

LOl....good post.

Yeah, Purdue's going to swat them back to L-ames in the 2nd round.

And adding final insult to injury, Iowa's going to win one more NCAA game than the cow-tippers this year.

Lolololol. This thread is funny. B1G power!

Congrats......For the 2nd year in a row ISU has a cakewalk to the sweet 16. Let's see if they eff it up again. I hope Hagins goes off for 50 Saturday.
