Connor and CC

What he should do is what most good college coaches do...go start at a HS somewhere that has a good talent pool and prove himself, then move up the ranks. He'd get a lot more respect doing that, especially trying to get his foot in the door. Let's face it, we're about the only people who know and/or care who Fran McCaffery is other than people know he's that guy from Iowa who blows up at refs all the time. It's not like McCaffery is a name like Pitino that his kid can just throw around and use as weight.
Yeah he seems like the kind of guy that would rather skip the line if he could. I agree Frans name doesn't carry huge weight within the industry for being able to land him a significant job. But he does have enough friends around that could get him foot in the door level gigs like the one he had with Matta. Ideally I think Connors perfect world woulda had him keeping that gig for awhile longer. But Matta had to go and retire and mess that all up for him and his bro. Wonder where he'll end up too

I'm not sure how any self respecting man could actually do that... Unless they were to get hitched and start having kiddos. But if not that then wtf Connor... He's a college graduate he's supposedly a pretty smart guy. He can't lay around and just be her arm candy.

I agree if he wants to pursue coaching on a serious level still he's gonna have to be mobile. Otherwise he's just doing it to fill his time while he leaches off of her. What he does next will be interesting. They've been together for like 3 yrs now right? Known each other way longer then that. So I wonder what their thoughts on marriage are. I can only assume he'll take her name and become Mr Connor Clark right? ;)
Dude, its not 1978. Times have changed. CC will make more money than they will ever be able to spend. If they get married and have a family and his role is to support her career and take the lead on family issues, I have no issue with that. Not saying I would do that or that it is right for everyone, but I am not going to judge a guy for making a personal choice that fits his and his wife's values and priorities.

This thread morphed into a whole different thing. Serious question...do people really think CC is an attractive woman? I don't see it.
Not to me, but everyone has different taste. If you cut her hair and made her taller she'd be Nicholas Baer's twin but with Garza's eyebrows. That's not a look I'm into.

CM definitely saw dollar signs first, a rich kid like him could easily have some bleach blonde fitness trainer type thing following him around if he wanted it.

She's too tall for me. My ego couldn't handle it. But for any guy over 6-ft she would probably be attractive.

I do think she kinda looks like Resident Alien actress Sara Tomko. I dont know if that is a compliment but she does play the female lead on the show.

Don't think the faces are in the same league. Tonko better and has a sexy sassy thing that is more attractive face-wise and you can see the Native American in it. Build-wise Tomko has a better rack and quite large rear at this point. Straight dark hair and dark eyes on both but...

Would be a compliment to Caitlan but I don't think she has eyes or a smile that is as attractive.

Times have changed so much that it's socially acceptable to be a stay at home boyfriend? Not husband, not a father and raising kids but just a stay at home boyfriend with no job/career? That's news to me. How much CC makes should be irrelevant if they aren't getting married anytime soon and starting a family to him if he has any self respect at all.

Even Oprahs boy toy had his own career and life all these yrs. It'd be wildly odd if Connor didn't either stay coaching or do something on his own. At least till they end up having kids. Then how they go about juggling life they can do in whatever unique way that fits them. But as two 20 something yr old college grads go him being a purse carrying unemployed BF is certainly a choice. Granted he hasn't been unemployed for very long yet. We'll see what he does

Yes. Times have changed that much. Women have been live-in girlfriends with no jobs for decades and no one particularly judges. See Bill Belicheck as but one example. I don't see why it cannot go the other way if the woman is making the serious money. These two have been together for several years now. If they are serious and this is a long-term commitment (whether marriage or not (not all couples get married these days)), and they choose to prioritize CC's career I am not going to fault them for that choice. Long distance relationships are hard to make work, especially with two incredibly packed careers. Prioritizing a relationship over a career is not a weak choice. Its just a choice. In the end, its their choice and how they live their lives has no impact upon me or you.

Well, if you are going to post close ups of each one's face, you are making it hard for me to make an argument. This is the best photo I could find in less than 5 minutes. But I will concede the point. Caitlin Clark is no supermodel.

Like a lot of players, CC is prettier off the court than on. No make-up, pony tail, ill-fitting uniforms. Hard to look like a model in those conditions. Kylie Feuerbach and Gabby Marshall being the exceptions to that rule.

I would describe CC as "athletic plain pretty." She doesn't do it for me, but I still think she is pretty.

Ok so get back to me when Belicheck and his gf switch roles and she becomes the breadwinner. Yeah women staying home has been a thing forever and ever. Besides this with CC and Connor maybe becoming a thing with him being a stay at home BF for awhile.

I've never heard of a guy actually doing that sort of thing and I don't think Connor actually will either. He'll end up doing something. There's just no way a guy like him would actually do nothing for say a few years. Why would she want that for him either? She seemed to enjoy going to the Butler games when he was coaching. Until they have kids I'd imagine he'd want to be doing something

As much as we all can't stand Connor for his anti-Iowa trolling, the guy has forgotten more basketball than most of us will ever know. He was a highly intelligent player on the floor when he played here, almost like having another coach out there. IMO, he is highly qualified to get back into the coaching world and could pretty easily get an assistant coaching position at the D-1 level. And he has some connections which never hurts. Whether he would move out of Indy or not, I have no idea. But it wouldn't shock me. Lots of couples have dealt with long range relationships. They are both young and building careers.

I, Along with a number of my friends and family, have really not cared what someone looks like.

We also spend almost no time caring how much $$ someone else makes.

I admire CC as a mature, sensitive woman with some very special gifts. I have no reason to believe that Connor is not a fine young man. I wish them the best. The roles they may choose are none of my business.

Honestly, some of the posts in this thread disturb me.

Yeah, I don't get Conner hatred either because I have not seen any of those nasty (now deleted) tweets that everybody is mentioning. But there seems to be enough passion about it on this board that it sounds like Conner was completely burning his bridges to Iowa.

Maybe its best that Conner just sits around and does nothing for the next 12 months. Long-term unemployment has a way of humbling a person and changing your attitude and changing your priorities. Maybe next time he won't be so quick to shit on any former organization he was a part of.

He is a dumb young twit as many of us may have been at least at some times and in some behaviors. I don't have hatred just can rag on him a bit. Didn't really like him enough to be upset or think it matters what he does. I was always the guy that said he was not so good just had some rep cause he could inbound pass well and had a psuedo quality stat where he had a good turnover to assist ratio but not impressive for a guy that doesn't take people off the dribble or drive the lane like a true point guard. Those thing were massaged to make a guy who couldn't drive the lane or score much and was taking the spot of a potentially better guard that we could have had look better.

Would have to be a player I cared about more to bother me. Just showed he didn't care that much about Iowa just as I didn't care about him. Besides burning those bridges means we see and hear about him less hopefully. :)

Talent is attractive. You have to take your normal assessment of attractiveness, and then up it at least 50% knowing she is one of the greatest college WBB of all time.

Here's the deal She is cute when she wants to be. She's not drop dead gorgeous....cute is good enough and she is a legendary Hawk . We should respect that
