I've also heard a female friend was being mistreated.

Would Clayton have been playing the role of an informant? He's a college QB, I can't see him doing anything would risk eligibility. And if a drug deal was involved A) why would it start in the bar and B) why was a knife the weapon of choice?

It's conceivable that the deal could have gone bad somewhere else and the perp was tracking them down in the night, but to me option one, the woman being groped and disrespected, and an altercation starting inside and spilling outside, sounds like a reasonable synopsis. Horribly tragic either way and the holiday season to boot.

A lot of bars are "gun free zones" so a drug dealer would not want to risk packing heat in the bar. You are not supposed to drink if you are concealed carrying.
