Adam McClintock from CFB Matrix says this is what their analytics say about the B1G this season. He describes these projections on no opinion - just #'s ..... go ahead and sign me up for that now.

Sign me up for that season! Going into a bowl game with a chance at 10 wins would be a great season!

Our defense and running game will have to be all that and then some to do it. I can't wait to see it.

I like this, and I agree with it. One thing that I think that it shows is the parity in the West. The argument that the East is far better just has not been true (granted the top team continues to come from the East), but overall the conference divisions are balanced. The only thing that I disagree with the above and the pundits is that OSU will finish #1, I think Penn State is the team to beat.

I believe there is one projection that uses something like how much experience the offensive line play has. I think one Iowa team in the past had a high score concerning this and had a terrific season. I think this also bodes well for Iowa this upcoming season as this is so important for a team like iowa. Couple that with the running game and ..............

Scarlet n Gray blinded committee will pick a 12-1 Buckeye team over 13-0 Wisky for the playoffs.

If D'Antonio finishes on the down side of .500 again the Sparty faithful will be in full meltdown mode!

Hate to say this, but we need to add another one to this. Under Ferentz the Hawks almost always lose a non-con. In his 18 years here we've only swept the non-conference schedule 5 times, and since 2007 we've lost at least one NC game 8 out of 10 years. KF historically pisses at least one down his leg.

McClintock is obviously giving us the losses in the PSU, OSU, and WI games, but he needs to add one. Hope I'm wrong.

Iowa would have to win roadies @ MSU, NW and kNU. The only sure wins I see are at home against Ill and PU. I think MN should be a win at home, but they'll have a good team; albeit with a new staff. I think 4-4 would be a good season for this years team with so many questions on offense, along the DL and at S.

Not that I disagree with you on KF's non con but besides like 3 or 4 coaches in the country, who can't you say that about?

what coaches do you have in mind with better non con records? Who would you pick?

I didn't mean so much about Ferentz being worse than other coaches, just that historically we lose a non-con WAY more often than not, and I doubt McClintock is considering that on a team by team basis. On paper we shouldn't lose one and that's what he has to go by because you can't accurately predict upsets of hugely favored teams. But...especially with the ISU game every year (which Ferentz is a measly 9-9 against) I don't think it's smart for any of us to assume we will go 3-0 NC. In fact you would be smart to say otherwise. Would I love the Hawks to win every game? Absolutely and I hope they do.

My prediction is 6-6 overall and 5-4 B1G.

That's within half a game of Vegas which is 6.5 O/U the last time I saw it. The folks out there don't stay in business by not covering their bets and I'd listen to them before any talking head out there.

He may be referring to the 5 MAC losses (almost 6 if we hadn't come back against Balls St on the last drive of the game) and the loss to NDSU, an FBS team. How many other P5 coaches have that kind of record?

Fair enough, he does lose in the NC more often then not. Winning games in CFB is hard.
