can Emely Rodriguez medically redshirt?

is she elegible for the medical redshirt? I think she brings the toughness that Iowa needs. Her shot selection and driving to the basket can look a bit selfish, at times. Certainly not what you would expect in an Iowa "system" player. But, she has talent. Can Jan harness that or will Emely bolt to the protal? With Deal, Kylie and Taylor out...there is certainly a need for someone with her ability.

I hope she stays ... she has moxie and has shown ability to produce against top competition. Would like to see her get 3 more years to acclimate and contribute as a Hawk.

I think she is gone. We'll probably know by the end of the week. Talented player but she did not seem to fit in.

Some writers are speculating that Mallegni may exit. Love her height/length, runs the court well...but her shot never came back and is not a great defender. She had some early season success last year in non-con games, but when it counted, her shot didn't.

Deal is the only surprise from that group. I would guess Rodriguez since she essentially sat out last season. I hope they find some contributors in the portal. I saw Houston's 5-star Quad City teammate, Divine Bourrage, entered the portal out of LSU.

I don't really care much about any we lost so far...Rodriguez has more potential than all of them combined, I hope we can keep her.
