Roasted Duck for Dinner tonight
Deal was the real deal.
Deal was the real deal.
Can you ask for this in every thread?Wanna see Addie more aggressive on offense
Congrats to Addie on her breakout game. Looking ahead Jan is going to need to find more minutes per game for Deal. Based on the Oregon game, It kinda looks like she might take those minutes from McCabe, who seems to be struggling with her 3-point shot lately. Stremlow also only played 12 minutes against Oregon, which is pretty low for someone who has started a lot of games for Iowa this season.
Can't argue with anything you posted.Nice W. Woulda been nice to have maintained a double digit lead at the end instead of bleeding that down to 6 pts. But we we're in control of the game 98% of it and never really felt like we we're gonna lose. Big big efforts from Stuelke and Deal. Addie played so smooth and confidently. She plays like that the rest of her career and she'll live up to that 5 star ranking. Kylie did too 5 assists 0 TOs. Hit some big shots and FTs. She's having a monster SR yr for her.
To nitpick I guess I'd say Hays looked just overwhelmed out there. She was slow slow and slower. She couldn't catch passes cleanly and those 9 mins she played were too many. She'll have better days hope she keeps her head up. Jan knows how to develop post players and it doesn't usually happen overnight.
I thought McCabe hasn't been herself lately either. Missing a few 3s isn't a huge deal for her but her shot selection at times isn't normal for her. I could be nitpicking big time cause I just get surprised whenever she does miss but hopefully we'll see her get hot again.
One coaching critique I guess I'd have for Jan is that when a player like Deal hits some shots like she did keep riding her. She's too team oriented to go full Caitlin Clark and demand the ball but if you're 7-9 and hit 4-4 from 3 to me that's an in the zone moment and they shoulda been feeding her and letting her go shot hunting till she cooled off. After one of her 3s the next possession she didn't get a touch and Houston forced up a tough layup in traffic. Just seemed like a missed opportunity to keep the peddle to the metal is all.
