Big "Ten" Expansion question

Given the conference is already at 11 teams, and plans to add a few more.

Why in the world would the name "Big Ten" still be linked?

Ten is a number. Plain and simple. It has no other definition than that.

So, what are your thoughts and a new conference name?

The Big Ten is a brand name more than anything and no way is it going to be changed.

The name "Big 10" is here to stay for reasons already stated (Brand Name, History), expect the logo to change.

why has the name big 10 been what it is since penn state came in? because its the big 10. its a staple of college football. its not the "big 8", then the "big 12"
