Hope the guys have a good visit and see how special it is to be a Hawk. Is there an open gym?
Getting a visit from #3 player is impressive. Gives hope that we can recruit better talent in futureHey, we made his final 14 list! LOL. In all seriousness, this is a good weekend to get him in for a visit. Not sure we land him but either way, in Ben I trust.
I fully expect to see us return to the same recruiting George Raveling brought to the basketball program. The difference will be that Ben will coach them up to maximize all of their potential. Although George was a great recruiter his during game adjustments fell way short of the level of players he recruited. I know it's only BEeN one year under Ben but he did one hell of a job with what he had to work and with what was practically most of Iowa's current team vacating the Iowa program. Fran who???Getting a visit from #3 player is impressive. Gives hope that we can recruit better talent in future
Ben would not be spending the resources recruiting this kid if he wasn't confident he could be in the ballpark, moneywise. If he truly ends up just going to the highest bidder, I don't want him. That is not the impression I am getting. He is not a 1-done kid, and may not be a natural NBA prospect. His college choice is crucial. I get the impression he is taking several visits and he and his agent will get a sense for what the market is, and as long as his chosen school is in the ballpark, he will select the place that fits his skills and aspirations best. If that is the case, Iowa has a real shot. Ben has a lot to sell.A friend of mine who always seems to be in the know for these kinds of things says the bidding for Daughtry will start at $2 Million a year.
We must have some $$$ stashed away somewhere or we wouldn't be having him in for a visit.
I think recruiting will improve but Raveling was a great recruiter. Hard to match tha especially with the NIL thrown inI fully expect to see us return to the same recruiting George Raveling brought to the basketball program. That kind of money is insane. Getting paid that kind of money… invest that correctly and retire after your 4 years of college and never work again! Preserving your body and brain especially for the football players.A friend of mine who always seems to be in the know for these kinds of things says the bidding for Daughtry will start at $2 Million a year.

Sounds like Cayden is down to 4 schools since he took the visit. The two FL schools FSU & Miami with Arkansas are our competition. All I can say is if we don't get him that'll be a hell of a nut punch. It's nice as hell to be in the battles but it'd sure be nice to win one of em for a change.
Yeah and that's home to him... We'll see if the family ties to Iowa and all we have going for us will put us over the top.The Florida schools probably have a few more coeds wearing bikinis wandering around than one would
see in Iowa City
No that that would be a factor
Merely an observation
Did not know he had any family ties to Iowa. What are they?Yeah and that's home to him... We'll see if the family ties to Iowa and all we have going for us will put us over the top.
Calipari will have the $ advantage....
I'd like to think that the chance to play a yr with a 7'3 center and all that Iowa has going for us with McCollum would be an amazing opportunity for a kid like him to see how good he could get. Tate Sage Cooper Koch spreading the floor with him. Trey Thompson and Jaiden Coon are athletic guys he can throw ally oops up to. It seems like he'd be the missing piece of sorts for em to really really good in 2 yrs...
