Big Recruiting Weekend

Pretty sure you will see a few more recruits committing this week after the big weekend visits. It might be less than years past as they moved the big weekend up. They have previously had the this at the end of the month and it was generally after most other schools. Apparently some started using that against us. They were paying recruits to not take the visit to Iowa. Minnesota was one school that was mentioned.

I mean paying attention to recruiting as a fan means zilch until the players step on the field. It’s unrestricted free agency and a kid can say till he’s blue in the face that he’s a Hawkeye but it doesn’t mean anything. I don’t even try and read info on incoming guys till the season starts.
Actually, it’s easier that way and kind of nice to be honest.

I agree and it sucks Even the 26 recruits aren't actually locked in. One disagreement or a coach being to tough or lack of playing time and the kid can bolt. I use to love hearing about guys we are bringing in and watching them grow, now its hard to fall in love with a guy because he'll leave you high and dry for more money ,more playing time because some wolf from another school came in and offered him a better deal .
