The Big 12 had their media days this week and this poll was part of the pub that followed.

I know this has nothing Hawkeye related but I grew up watching the Big 8 and while always a B1G fan I paid pretty close attention and still do. Plus our fav Iowa St is in it!

Some of my thoughts -

BYU and the church is poring lots of $$ into the athletic dept in all sports and wants to be a national power. I think they want to be in the B1G, not Utah.

I never could understand why Arizona St wasn't stronger in the Pac 12. They are really coming along athletically and academically and have good resources. I expect them to be strong in the Big 12 across the board. Actually, I would support them as a B1G member, but you never see them mentioned. They are are opening a new medical school this fall and academically doing well. This isn't a reason for them to be invited but their president, Michael Crow, is an Iowa St grad, was on the track team.

Scott Frost is right where he deserves to be!

I'm not surprised the new Iowa St coach is ranked so low. But he's been successful every place he's been and while maybe not this year I expect them to be tough in future years.
