Bennett Stirtz in the NBA

Alright, perhaps it's time to pivot off the McCaffery's for a while. That might be the healthy thing to do.

Let's talk Bennett. Wonder how you feel he will do in the NBA and what kind of role or career he will end up having? Where do you think he will get drafted. He will be one of the highest drafted Iowa players in history. Going in the first round is quite an accomplishment, especially his unique path to the NBA. What teams seem to be on radar for him? I admittingly don't follow the NBA much anymore. I thought I would after the Murray's got there, but it's not easy locating games to watch so interest fell off.

I think he will do Well in the NBA

Gonna be fun to watch him if he breaks into the starting lineup, which is possible because the talent
is there

Toronto at #19

That is what I am seeing the most in mock drafts. Toronto needs a starting point guard, so he would have a chance to start. Full disclosure, I haven’t watched any Toronto Raptors’ basketball this year…I am going off what everyone else is saying, so take it FWIW.

Quick synopsis: Can come off your bench, and run your 2nd unit from day one. So the fact that he is 23, can be seen as a positive. Shot a streaky 35.3% from 3 last year, but most scouts say that his heavy usage was the cause of 3 pt. %. The usage numbers back that up, the fact that he shot well at the combine also backs that up.

Height: 6’2 and 3/4. Has a wingspan of someone 6’6. As I stated in a previous thread…he has long arms.

Toronto is a great city, definitely worse options for a place to live.

He has all the skills necessary to be a success at the next level. He may struggle defensively against smaller, quicker guards. And he will need to be in a slower system to optimize his skills, but I see him in a rotation getting great minutes from the get go. He should be plug and play, at least as a bench guy next season.

Stirtz to OKC…trying to process exactly what that all means. He can immediately can come in and run that 2nd unit…just have no clue what that OKC 2nd unit is going to look like.
