So is he playing football this yr? Haven't heard anything about him in awhile. I'm no wrestling fan. I occasionally will see some wrestling stuff but I don't pretend to be a huge fan or keep up with it. But is he sticking with wrestling or coming back to football and in spring ball this yr or what?

No way he's ever playing football here and he likely knows it. Not even on the roster anymore

Didn't play as a freshman obviously, missed last year with hip surgery and never worked out or practiced with the football team, not on the roster anymore. Zero chance even if he tried that he'd come in and make the team. Also, they'd be burning a scholarship because if you're a multi-sport scholarship athlete and part of the football team, football is the sport that gets dinged with the scholarship. Whether football gets his scholarship back if he's only wrestling now, I don't know.

He hasn't played in a football game since 2022 in high school, and at a top 25 P4 football program, playing linebacker isn't something you just walk into cold after 4 years.

I have been wondering about this too. My thoughts were basically what Fry said. He hasn't played in such a long time and it would be difficult at best to pick it back up. And, I haven't heard anything from the football staff/coaches, etc. Why doesn't someone just come out and say it?

I'm guessing a kid who's not on the team anymore isn't at the top of their radars. Probably got 5 million other things going on in meetings/camp/etc. keeping them awake at night.

Thats what I was afraid of... LB room is pretty full of young dudes too it's not like he's a need at all. Nobody in the media seemed to have asked yesterday when they got to talk to KF. Sounds like the dude Fd up not playing football only from the start.

Plus, you would be trying to get your body right for both wrestling and football. That would seem to be a very challenging tasks toggling back and forth.

Yeah it seemed like an impossible endeavor to really pull off. And that's if he didn't have any drastic weight gains/losses needed to do it. Just the sports calendar the way it's laid out makes it tough. Then he got hurt which complicated things for him so it makes sense that he's done with football. Now he has the what ifs to live with.

I think he could have been a star player in FB if that is what he chose to do. He is a great athlete. Could have developed into a DE or even a DT. But I also totally respect his decision to choose wrestling. He did what was best for him.

I always thought he made sense as a DE. Athletic, nasty, and with a frame to add weight. But I agree with others, that ship has sailed at this point.
