Are we done recruiting?

We have been holding at 13 for a long time. Is the new play 4 in 5 rule playing a role? We have a QB and 1 running back. Dont think we have any WRs

You keep going on and on about recruiting.

Recruiting isn't the #1 priority of coaches anymore. It's the portal/transfer market. And you aren't going to hear about those kids until the last minute.

I don't know what it would take to get you to realize it.

It is sort of weird to start pretty much the same thread. We need more content and posts on the Board, so not trying to critique the effort, but there is only so much to say on this repeated topic. Iowa has a small senior class and yes, the new 5 for 5 rules is going to allow more experienced players to stay in CFB, which likely means smaller incoming classes while this rule is phased in. The pool to pull D1 players from just added a couple thousand (somewhat) unexpected names to it with this rule change. That's gonna have a short term impact.

I wonder if your post would play on Ohio state Oregon or Michigan site

On what planet is Iowa the same as Oregon, OSU or Michigan?

Tell me how Iowa is apples/apples with them in any way.
They are not. But are you suggesting that recruiting at Iowa is a waste of time? The portal is everything?
clearly the portal has changed strategy’s but hasn’t eliminated the need to recruit. And likely legislation may change things again

Just a point of information. 247 lists of Big 10 teams recruiting numbers and ranks
In rank order. Oregon 24 committed Oh state 19 mich 21 Nebraska 22 UCLA 23 USC 14 Washington 24 Penn State 22 Wisconsin 23 Indiana 17 Minnesota 29 Maryland 21 Northwestern 21 Rutgers 20 Purdue 16Illinois 16 Michigan State 15. Iowa 13

I would like to seem more recruits, and high-end recruits. But a couple of things for context. First, we don't have the attrition that a lot of programs do so we don't have the need that others may have. Also, with the new five for five rule, you are now stretching the same number of recruits over more years. By definition, this is going to make each class smaller.

Another thing that I will add, I have heard on some podcasts that we did strike out on some of our targets from our heavy June recruiting weekend due to financial reasons. Not sure why this is or how short we are coming up but if this is the case, I hope it can be remedied.
