Congrats to Addie and Hannah on a great week. Hannah seemed really fired up and played with great passion in both games.
It seems like Deal's minutes did not go up much against MSU after her breakout game against Oregon. Deal had 15 minutes and Stremlow only 10 minutes while Chit Chat and Kylie both had 34 minutes.
McCabe had 26 minutes and came out fired up against MSU, making some good hustle plays, but McCabe still seems to be in a bit of a shooting slump, which is not good because her 3-point shooting is still the main reason she is on the floor.
Addie continued to shoot the ball well against MSU but also had some turnovers. I dont know how much that was on Addie because Jan was pushing the idea hard to keep feeding the post, but Addie's passes inside just kept getting picked off. Also MSU's defense deserves a lot of credit too. But overall still a good game for Addie, scoring 8 points in just 15 minutes of play.

This was a good learning game for Addie. MSU was flooding the lane with players in which the Hawks haven't seen that yet this year. At least not that many. At times there were up to 3 or 4 players crashing the lane. I'm thinking that's why her minutes were diminished. McCabe will catch on fire again and it better be at Maryland because the Hawks always seem to have a very hard time coming out of there with a win.
Hannah is playing like a first team B1G 1st teamer. Hope she keeps up the intensity and leadership she's been bringing these last couple of games. We're going to miss Hannah next year.

I'm glad Addie has her 3 going but the people calling for her to get more minutes need to cool their heels a little. I get it since McCabe's 3 disappeared last night, but Addie's lack of experience shows at times. McCabe's all around game has really improved, 15 minutes a game for Addie is good for now IMHO.

I saw a post on X yesterday saying Addie has signed a deal with Upper Echelon Sport.
I looked up Upper Echelon and all I could see is that it's a sport management company. I assume they will help her with endorsements and maybe even be her agent going forward. I assume it means money in her pockets, maybe a lot.

This really showed up last night. She has the highest ceiling on the team right now. But she gets exposed against athletic, defensive teams.

Deal’s ball handling needs to catch up to the speed of the collegiate game. I’m confident it’ll improve throughout the offseason and once it does I believe she will flourish.

Not a good West coast trip for Deal. I think if Journey Houston had been playing guard all year, she might be starting over Deal right now. I think the main reason Deal is starting over Stremlow or Houston, is that Jan thinks that eventually Deal will be the best choice at the time of the Tourney.
That is inded a GlassHalfFull prediction...and I think you're right.

All solid posts based on her stars and potential. Unfortunately, she is completely in over her head during most of her minutes. Jan betting she can replicate Oregon? Hasn't happened yet and in meantime, she's mostly a freshman liability on the court.

No question Deal has been struggling. Fairly obvious why Stremlow is now starting over Deal. Still wish Iowa could get Houston some more minutes. Interesting that Levin continues to see minutes as Feurerbach's backup.

The game will slow down for Addie.
What she really needs is a good off-season of dedicated S&C. Her movements, both offensively and defensively, are just a tick slow for this level.
Resistance training with high-level plyometrics and agility drills would do wonders for her.

She's 25 games into her career. She is very good and will be fine. Stremlow and other Freshman struggled a lot last year. She's played at a high level in club ball which only the best can do. She's already shown signs of being supergood.

Deal is a 5-star recruit which is why there was more of an expection she would be good right away compared to the freshman from last year. Turns out its going to take a little more time than originally expected for her to get there
But yeah, I dont think anybody has given up on her. The signs of her tremendous potential are still there. Hopefully she will make that big leap in her sophomore year like Heiden and Stremlow have. If she is a true competitor, Deal now has the motivation she needs to do the work she needs to do in the off-season.

Love Levin, she is a rabid beast on the floor
Extremely aggressive and in your face on D
She is fun to watch and probably should get even more playing time
Addie is going to be fine an a productive player with seasoning

No surprise to me that our overall 3 point shooting went south following McCabe injury. Where the defense had to be aware of Taylor at all times, it freed up everyone else to an extent. The 1st half of the Nebby game was the first sign I have seen that our 3 pt slide was abating and it was a beautiful thing to watch. Of course, we backed off in the second half and invited Nebby back into the game……

I'm no expert. I'll compare Deal to Stremlow. My observation is that Stremlow is a risk taker and not afraid to be aggressive. She turns the ball over, which are errors of commission. She's not afraid to go to the basket or frightened to take the 3. Sometimes it pays and sometimes it doesn't. Lately she is showing signs of learning when to take chances and when not to. I think Deal on offense needs to go to the basket aggressively. Try to draw the foul or reverse the ball. On Monday she had chance to drive, but was reluctant. She is prone to turnover as well because she telegraphs her passes. All those things can be fixed. She needs to be more assertive. Journey Houston of the freshmen has been the most proficient with her minutes. She is aggressive and not timid about mixing it up.

Yeah, we miss her automatic 2 Threes, might have taken her 4/5 attempts but they were guaranteed
And as you said, she acquired a lot of attention, making it easier for the rest of the team on the floor
to operate

I have a feeling that Jan had one of her famous heart to heart talks with Levin. Jan probably told Levin, look if you want some more playing time, you probably will have to step it up on defense. You know, find that special niche that sets you apart.
