Aaron White Video

He is definitely a three. However, in some situations I see Iowa playing without a 5. With decent length and athleticism, they should be able to make up for not having a true center sometimes. Would be nice if they could switch up a 3,4,3,2,1 look with a 4,3,2,2,1 and a traditional set.

Especially in the non conference. Easier to get away with it there. But boy am I excited about White

They said it was the Division 1 playoffs. In Ohio is that the big schools or the small schools?

Div 1 is the big schools in Ohio. Schools in Ohio are put into either class A, AA, or AAA (AAA being the largest schools) regardless of sport. However, each sport often will have a different number of divisions, so these classifications aren't used for post-season tournaments. Rather, the division system is used and Division 1 is always the biggest schools.

On a sidenote, I wish all states would adopt this type of classification system. I hear about a 6A school in another state and I generally have no idea if that is the largest class or not. Just like college, D1 should be the top. Also, I like how in Ohio a school can say "we are a 2A school" and that holds across all sports. The class relates to the size of the school regardless of sport, and the division is more sport specific.

Not true. Their numbers for schools in each class vary widely from sport-to-sport. There's plenty of schools that are Division II in some sports and Division I in others.

Re-read my post junior. Slowly this time, and with focus.

You failed to keep reading the next sentence after the one you bolded, which says "the class relates to the size of school regardless of sport, and the division is more sport specific." In Ohio the division and class are not synonymous. A school is either A, AA, or AAA within the OHSAA, but a school may compete within different divisions in different sports depending on the number of classifications within that sport. Regardless, Division 1 is always the biggest school division.

Back to the OP, kid looks good. Will be interesting to see what size he is by the time he gets here and where Fran uses him.

Ah, gotcha. The last sentence threw me off when it said "class". I just assumed that meant division. My bad :)

In Ohio, there are four divisions in all sports except football, which has six. Division 1 contains the largest schools. Many schools are Division I for baseball, basketball, etc., but are Division II in football

The divisions are determined by the number of males enrolled in the freshman, sophomore & junior classes on the first day of school the previous year.

As an example, a school with 500 males in those three classes has over 1300 students (500 x 4/3 (to include the senior class) x 2 (to include female students).

Strongsville, with 957 males in the freshman, sophomore & junior classes has over 2500 students.
