5 start Hartwell commits to Hawkeyes

[USBHawk]

Big get out of SC!

[Zstatman]

27 class shaping up quite nicely

HUGE get for the program. Top-ranked HS player coming out of South Carolina, and either the #2 or 3 ranked center in the country, depending on the recruiting service. She also has a rep for being grounded and very nice. She'll fit in perfectly.

How did we lure her away from South Carolina and Dawn Staley

Probably not tall enough.

I don't think Staley offered. S.C. has basically become UCONN South. They can hand pick across the nation.

And I think they're 2-3 deep already with 5* Cs

I believe so. You can’t coach tall.

Can't imagine Iowa not at least offering a player ranked that highly out of our own state.

We don't have that level of luxury, at least not yet.....

Yep. Staley has created her own universe.

That said, being passed over by Staley will assuredly be a motivator as her career progresses. With the classes Iowa is landing year after year, we should be in contention for deep tourney runs for the foreseeable future; if Jan's bench coaching catches up to her recruiting and development.
