From article:

With their sights set on reclaiming the NFL’s top rushing offense, the Jets are counting on Greene to build on a solid, but not spectacular 2011 campaign. Green’s rushing workload will likely decrease with the additions of Tebow and Ganaway , who will both be utilized in short yardage and goal line situations. Greene undeservedly shouldered the burden for the Jets fall in the rushing ranks from 1st in 2009, 3rd in 2010 and plummeting to 22nd in 2011.

The inconsistent play of New York’s offensive line was major culprit for the Jets rushing woes a season ago. For Gang Green’s ground game to ascend to the NFL’s elite this upcoming season, it’s offensive front will have to elevate its play collectively and absorb the concepts taught by newly hired offensive coordinator Tony Sparano.

The 2012 season marks a crossroads in Greene’s young career. The punishing tailback will have a golden opportunity to lead New York back to its ground-and-pound glory days.

Part of the problem the Jets have is a crappy QB. They need to re-establish themselves as a running team instead of throwing so much. They got away from what they were good at.

i wont say sanchez is crappy but he isnt a top flight qb...he is a game manager like alex smith. in a run first playaction offense he will be fine. i think the line struggled for shonn because they were asked to change their skill set last yr and be a pass 1st team and then when they went to run block they werent as aggressive. i think even though shonn will see decreased short yardage numbers he will have more carries with no lt and we should see him bounce back. he has a great power and speed and shiftyness combo for the oc they have.

you're right. he's serviceable. but he's crappy for what they were trying to do last year. the dude isn't the type where you can drop him back 40 times a game. he needs the run game going to be successful.
