10 capable wide receivers

I count that there are at least 10 wide receivers that are capable of being major contributors this year. These include KMM, Smith, Willies, Powell, VandeBerg, Hillyer, Stone, McCarron, Harris and Mitchell. Forgive me if I am missing someone or if someone or if someone one has already changed position.

So what are the plans to best utilize all this talent? More 3-4 receivers sets? More screens and reverses? How about a wide receiver pass trick play a time or two this year? Is anyone switching to the defensive secondary to help the depth situation there?

In 1985 Iowa got off a 70 yard punt on first down because msu had no deep man on the play. Since seeing that I am no longer surprised. How about combining a wr pass and a hook and ladder on the same play? They have the talent to make it work.

Dude you are out there man.

Think about it 3 receivers line up on one side in a formation where the defense is thinking screen. 2 receivers set up to block then break off. Qb throws to the 3rd receiver who passes passes to one of the other 2 who then do the hook and ladder pitch. This would be a guaranteed big play. I will draw this one up and send it to the coaches.

I've always liked the kick off return where the team receives the kick and then all get in a huddle to disguise who has the ball. I saw Larry Moe and Curly do it, that **** works like crazy. We are fools for not trying it.

listening to kennedy he would disagree, i think, with your assumption of 'major contributors' with some names on your list. i believe it was harris and mitchell that he said needed to make a lot of improvement this fall.

Both Harris and Mitchell are listed on the rivals depth chart. They are both capable of improving and being major contributors. Mitchell is 6'1" Harris is 6'0" both are redshirt freshman. From what I understand both are also fast. This could be a great wide receiver duo for years to come.

agree here.

if you haven't already, there was a rivals interview of kennedy that is free - JD had posted it to one of his pieces that contained a bunch of articles/videos/tweets, etc. iowa media day. it's mainly about willies, but mentions harris and mitchell at the end. good interview.
