    Iowa current RPI 70!!!

Important note about LIVERPI. On conference tournament games, they enter the score in real time partial incorrect. They enter a road team and a home team. This leads towards estimated but not correct numbers, as all games are on a neutral court. They correct it in the morning. This is why...

Bubble summary - 5 spots left

Virginia is the hardest team to figure what the committee will do. The good thing, at this point, is the other teams matter a little less than a few days ago. Iowa fate is in their own hands, beat MSU and they are in. I really believe 100% that tonight is a play in game for Iowa.

Bubble summary - 5 spots left

Boise is one of those teams that looks like a great resume, but falls apart some once you look at the actual games. Pretty amazing that there 2 wins over Wyoming are top 75 wins.

He hesitates on Oklahoma and Cal. I agree that Oklahoma has some holes in their resume, and could be at risk if all or most of the bubble teams win today. If think Cal is a lock.

Bubble summary - 5 spots left

If you put Minnesota, Oklahoma and Villanova in the tournament (most do, but these are the weakest 3 of the locks), then 5 spots are left for these teams : Boise St. Kentucky Tennessee LaSalle St. Marys M-Tenn St. Viginia Iowa Mississippi S Miss Alabama This assumes no bid stealers, but those...

Iowa 19-9 ATS this year, 6 in a row

Usually when a team is that strong against the spread, either betters don't respect them enough, or they are overachieving frequently, or a little of both. Good year to be placing bets on Iowa. (basketball, not football)

***OFFCIAL IOWA VS DORKS PREDICTION THREAD***

Agree Iowa 72 N 55 Also, with this win Iowa RPI should move to roughly .5590, which currently would be good for 69th.

    Gotta Love the RPI

Today was slightly bad (V Tech is the gift that keeps on giving), but is is razor close between 69 and 77. Don't be surprised if Iowa ends the day around 71-72.

    Gotta Love the RPI

Iowa will be slightly helped by winning tonight. Not a large move but it will be positive. If we were at home, it probably would be no gain at all, given how far Northwestern has fallen. An MSU win would be a very large gain. I estimated the other day we would land in the 57 to 63 range with...

    Gotta Love the RPI

The fact is though, all the computer models love this Iowa team except one. In my opinion, the one that is heavily used, and the only one that does not like Iowa, is very flawed (and not just because it does not like Iowa).

    Gotta Love the RPI

Iowa did move up in the RPI when the Iowa St win was entered, however, it went down by the exact same amount when Minn lost. Remember we played Minn twice, Ill once. Our Opp adjusted win %, which is 50% of the stupid RPI, is 2-2 today.

I may not be up on this, but is Minnesota considered an NCAA tourney lock?

If they get beat by a large margin today, there is no guarantee. Their resume is very worthy, however, I would not be shocked if they were left out with another beat down. They would be finishing the year in a highly unusual way.

    Villanova vs. St. Johns

Yes, both teams have more top 50 wins than almost any other bubble team.

    Vegas Bracketology

I think they should use computers, just not a simple outdated program that can rank a team 70th that didn't beat 1 team in the top 100 all year.

    Villanova vs. St. Johns

If we beat MSU (2 wins, one top 10), and they lose their next game, we will be ahead of Villanova with the committee. Their resume is barely ahead of us in my opinion.

Tim Brando says Iowa needs two

Yes, I agree, but most bubble teams don't get the chance to beat teams like the BTT has to offer.

Tim Brando says Iowa needs two

A site records everyone picks every year, I think it is 'the bracket project'. I went to the link and it is down right now for some reason. It has 65 people on the web who have recorded brackets the last 3+ years. Lunardi is 34th and Jerry Palm is 36th for the last 3+ years. Most of the 65 are...

Tim Brando says Iowa needs two

Things can change quickly. Sat morning, fresh off a victory over top 10 MSU on a neutral court with an RPI of around 57-58, I think our press will improve a lot. They can kick Iowa right now, but Iowa has one last chance to make a strong impression, I personally think they are very capable of...

Tomorrow a Big Day for Iowa

Probably not, I agree, however they could move past us with a couple wins in the RPI. I would rather not have another team ahead of us in the RPI. I just think Cin was in either way. I think Iowa's real targets are Boise, LaSalle, St. Marys, Kentucky, Virginia, Miss, Tennessee, Villanova and...
