    Sad

Any road win in the Big Ten is a good win for this Hawk team. The reality however is we beat a bad team. We played a good game for about 30 minutes against Sparty and after a few bad shots and a few turnovers Sparty bitch slapped us in a matter of minutes. I think Ohio State beats us by double...

Hawks need a win Vs. the kitty cats!!!!!

I like Harding too. He's a good ball handler, can find the open guy, and I think keeps the turnovers to a minimum. On the downside, not a great defender, small compared to other league guards, has a tough time creating a jump shot off the dribble for himself. I haven't researched his stats as a...

The Better Late Than Never Valiant Hawkeyes vs the badgers Game Thread

Watched wire to wire. Let's face it we are bad. Our bench is thin, Payton is G league at best, Harding looks lost without Freeman out there. Wisky had wide open 3's all day from the corner. Fran has checked out. Honestly can't think of another coach at this level who keeps his hands in his...

Hawks Crack the Buckeye Nuts Wide Open Thread

Love those older Hawks. Saw "Donnie" Lester who rarely dunked the ball take it down the lane down 20 to 0 against Michigan at home and tomahawked a left handed dunk . I can't recall him ever dunking again.

Hawks Crack the Buckeye Nuts Wide Open Thread

One could argue there are a few games where he has shot us out of the game with all the misses and quick shots. What's the old saying, "Live by the 3 die by the 3"

Happy to be back. Yes, Iowa not setting the b ball world on fire are they. You know what I find interesting this season? AJ Storr Dude transfers to Kansas and looks like a completely different player....and not in a good way. Thoughts???

Isn't this is when Ohio St. sends their bench in too?

    Iowa's realistic next coach

Wonder if the guy who owns or owned some agriculture patent and I think is worth 2 billion give or take is dumping coin into the program. I think has the largest Chevy/Corvette collection which is impressive.

    Iowa's realistic next coach

I just hope if Fran moves on Beth doesn't hire some douchey guy who wears a medium shirt when he should be in an extra large. Is that asking too much?

    Hawks vs Goofers!!!!!

I'm wondering why Harding sat so much the second half. Like many of the Hawks, B Sandfort can't keep anyone from blowing past him on the defensive side.

    Boom - Deacon Hill

Just a guess, but after the spring practice I wonder if Kirk and company had a little meeting with Deacon and just laid it there that you seeing the playing field this upcoming season is not looking good.

    Observations from Iowa Football Practice

It was clear to me that Deacon Hill probably is not going to improve much. He still has little pocket awareness, he's still prone to strip sacks, and he still can't move much in the pocket to extend plays. Once again today I saw him throw a 100 mph heater at a receiver no more than 15 yards...

    Patrick McCaffery Enters Transfer Portal

I'm definitely going to pay attention to the team that lands Tony. Will he propel that team to a title or a deep run in the tourney? I say no based on his ups and downs. Don't tell me I'm hating on TP because I'm not. Just calling it as I see it. There are games were he was great and there are...

    Tony Perkins to the Portal

So after looking over the Big Ten/ Big Twelve NIL stats for athletics, I've come to a few conclusions: Michigan has a ton of money available and one might conclude the bulk of it went to the football team and not their basketball team. Houston and Iowa State are relatively on the low end , but...

    Tony Perkins to the Portal

I read your article and you stated Iowa lags behind in NIL/ and support from the athletic dept in the basketball area especially. Is there a site where the financial information is available to see how far we are behind other schools?

    Tony Perkins to the Portal

It will be interesting to see where he lands and if under a new coach if he can become more consistent. I think it was last season against Illinois he was unstoppable and then there was a few nights ago against Utah. Yikes.

#1 Hawkeyes - #8 Mountaineers NCAA 2nd Round Game Thread

Agree. Opposing coaches see if they don't have the players to run and gun with the Hawks or the post player to feed it to maybe our best chance is to rough it up and play up into the shooters. The risk of that of course is what we finally saw late in the game....foul trouble and a parade to the...

NIT Round 2: Iowa @ Utah

I see Connor E from Wisconsin is available. Fran should reach out to him...he would fit right in at Iowa. Good shooter who doesn't want or can't play defense.

NIT Round 2: Iowa @ Utah

Guys can have off nights offensively for sure. I have no problem with that. What I saw on the defensive side from Tony was 1 of 2 things: He's either hurt and he can't react or his heads not in it. Watch a replay and you can see it clearly.
