Perspective for a moment - two fold.

Aren't we getting a big man from Belmont? IC kid? Two years left of eligibility?

Are the Brands becoming Fran and Kirk?

I think Brands has done very well for the state of wrestling in general. The HWC is doing well. UFC affiliation. and while it's tough to deal with, we are still a Top 3 wrestling program. Penn State gave Cael a blank check. He has done well with it. But I would argue Brands has done a very good...

Perspective for a moment - two fold.

I think in many ways Fran probably got more out of this team than most expected. I did not think this team was a tourney team from the start we had in the Big Ten. I also wonder if fatigue set in. They overachieved much of the season and gave us some awesome games, but then also some letdowns...

FYI CJ Beathard again shows he is ready

I agree, it would be nice to see him getting some playing time. When allowed to get some reps, he has represented himself very well. I think he has unfortunately been in situations where he tends to always be behind a big name or high draft pick. At least he is getting paid, and will likely walk...

    Kris Murray 1st-Team All-B1G, Rebraca 3rd-Team

Absolutely. I don't really see us having any bigs on our current roster that will be ready. Mulvaney seems more like a project, but it would be nice getting someone out of the portal.

    Kris Murray 1st-Team All-B1G, Rebraca 3rd-Team

LOL. Agreed. It's the Hawkeye fan speaking from the heart. But I cannot see him staying for any reason beyond thinking he can increase his position. He possess the frame and all the tools. He will get paid somewhere. Been a joy to watch both Keegan and Kris. Great story of two legacy players...

    Kris Murray 1st-Team All-B1G, Rebraca 3rd-Team

I also want to give some love to Rebraca. Very improved player from even last year. He balled out this year. Being 6'9 in the Big Ten and taking on a lot of big men, I thought he did a heckuva job. Well deserved recognition. Improved in all facets of his game.

    Kris Murray 1st-Team All-B1G, Rebraca 3rd-Team

My heart wants him to come back, but my head tells me he should go. A lot of these guys before they declare get a lot of feedback from experts, as well as work towards refining skill set before they go. I wish Kris the best of luck regardless of his decision. I think he has the tools to play...

    Rob Sand Wants Barta Out

We can agree to disagree. That's the great thing about this forum. You think I am wrong. I would disagree. I don't say KF is without fault. Any position of power and that is in the spotlight is going to likely receive criticism. And sadly, you can have a career of doing everything right for...

Iowa Women #2 in the AP

I had heard a one or two seed....how you can be #2 in the nation and NOT be #1. They seem to go back and forth between the Hawkeyes and Va Tech. Either or would be great. I just want them to go on a run and destroy teams.

    Rob Sand Wants Barta Out

Little bit off the subject of Barta, I am more curious about what the transcripts say. Is there any truth that some of the accusations were recanted? If so, I have a bigger issue with just paying out money to make this go away. I was just listening to the local sports talk show this morning...

    Told ya So

I take a little different view of Fran. I think he is a darn good coach. Especially for Iowa. Like previously mentioned, I see very few coaches jumping at this job. Fran has taken this team a lot farther than most. I get frustrated with defense and play at times like the next. We did not shoot...

    Takeaways: Northwestern Take Down Hawkeyes

The whole team collectively vomited all over the basketball court last night. There wasn't a whole lot positive to take from it. Iowa struggled to get things going overall. But overall, the shots did not fall. We had good looks, but just couldn't get anything going. Burn the game tape and move on.

    Connor McCaffery Shines for Iowa

Agreed. A lot of what he does, does not show up in the stat book as far as court leadership and etc. I do think he has at least developed a bit more of an offensive game (as mentioned). I've seen several players step up from Perkins, Sandfort, to even CMac. This team could be dangerous if we...

    Worst Oline in school history…

That's a legitimate question. We are years from Reese Morgan setting the golden standard. We have now two O-line coaches from his glory days. It makes you wonder, and is a legit concern. The center we got from the transfer portal has connections for Barnett. While Iowa has a strong reputation...

    Worst Oline in school history…

100%!! I think losing him really hurt us the following year for not only his position being such a key component to the O-line, but not having a suitable back up. From there, it just fell to pieces. And yes, there were definitely a lot of contributing factors such as guys leaving early, guys not...

    Worst Oline in school history…

There definitely has been some variables that have lead to this drop in performance, but the jury is definitely still out on Barnett. So far, I have not been too impressed. Iowa traditionally builds some solid lineman on both the defensive and offensive sides, but have a good reputation for...

"The only good gopher is a dead gopher"...official Iowa @ Minnesota Game thread

Man, it was an ugly game. Felt like I was watching an Iowa football game, and letting Minny hang around. Our first half shooting was hot garbage. Especially with the amount of turnovers we were getting. Allowed the Gophers to hang around. I think we appeared in control most of the game, but it...

    Iowa Wrestlers Dominate Michigan

The fellas looked motivated. Warner hopefully learned from Minnesota. He has the talent to be one of the best at his weight class. But overall, I think all the wrestlers showed much more offense and wrestled aggressively. That's what they will have to do, if they want to be in contention for...

Howe: Who Does the Brian Ferentz "Salary-Reduction" Move Satisfy?

I don't think you will see an overhaul of the offense. It will be subtle changes. That's KF. I liken KF to Bill Belichick. Similar theories on football which both were assistants together years ago in Cleveland. We all know it....field position, run first, and time of possession. It's not...
