Looks Like Rudock Is LOSING the Mich QB Competition: Will He Quit Again?

Most of the UM "insiders" think Rudock will win the starting job. Morris is physically more talented but erratic and inexperienced. If Morris were to win the job, then it's a win-win for them in having an experienced backup. But, I'm more interested in Beatherd's and Wiegers development this...

SIAP - New Commit - Welch

Well said. I think it's likely a number of these guys get more P5 offers when the season starts. A lot of teams hold off on guys with raw potential who haven't put up high production until they see how they look their senior seasons. So, part of the coaches job going forward is to hang on to them.

Max Wariboko, CB from Oklahoma is a

Well, they accepted two DB commits over the weekend. So, they probably told their DB offers "We have to scholarships left and the first two DB's we've offered who take them will get them". Two did. Done. Given his tape it wouldn't surprise me if Billings ended up at WR. He's electric with the...

LB Nick Niemann and TE T.J. Hockenson commit to the Hawkeyes

Been a really strong couple of weeks for the Hawkeye's recruiting staff. No linkable articles up yet, but they're in. https://sports.yahoo.com/usf/football/recruiting/player-Nick-Niemann-170407 http://sports.yahoo.com/ucla/football/recruiting/player-T.J.-Hockenson-164593

Hawkeyes get commitments from two Detroit DE's.

The good news on MSU not plucking one or both later is a significant reason why UM grabbed Higdon is that Harbaugh was just starting his recruiting at UM and his plan A RB guys fell through. MSU might be having it's best recruiting year in many years. Both of them are likely to have their DE...

Hawkeyes get commitments from two Detroit DE's.

Sounds like both of these guys have potentially big upsides. http://recruiting.scout.com/story/1547401-hawkeyes-land-eevp-duo

    Beathard Article

It could be. I'm worried that the loss of Duzey could be a tipping point between being improved or stagnating. He has NFL talent and seemed poised for a break out year. That said, I think the run game will be improved and that's going to help the passing game. The offensive tackles being a real...

And So It Begins: Ferentz Bashing Talented Underclassmen

That's not bashing, that's fair criticism. Designed to help keep a talented player motivated o get better. Bad players aren't being criticized because they aren't playing. Coaches, KF included, typically criticize talented players who need to stay motivated. To not rest on the progress they've...

    Rudock?

From the Michigan side of things. They're saying both Rudock and UM want him to come there. That there is some tie up with compliance. Even if the UM thing falls through I can't imagine a likely scenario where he stays at Iowa. He obviously wants to leave and it's aid he's not working out with...

    Oversigning SEC

It continues to be a problem. Largely because most SEC and B12 schools(not sure if it's the same with Rhodes but ISU used to be one of the biggest oversigners) are willing to give players the heave ho who are academically eligible but aren't developing up to expectations or simply there's better...

Hawks receive commit from 360 lb Soph DT

Great for Juan, and Iowa. Player development, especially on both sides of the LOS, is the program's strength. He'll be "coached up" here. As was Carl Davis and LTP and many others. On skill position players. I'm pretty happy with the QB classes we've been bringing in, and most recently some...

    Why Iowa lost the game

The deeper problem here was a lack of athleticism. If Melvin Gordon sticks to his commitment this is an easy Iowa win. Not blaming him for switching just commenting on a dearth of breakaway speed/talent. Maybe that talent will develop in Parker, Wadley and in guys like Higdon. Yes, we should...

Pat Harty - Hawkeyes' big hurdle always has been recruiting

Snyder is a brilliant coach but he's done it at a school that admits and maintains the eligibility of many JUCO's. He does it in a state that has valued JUCO programs that help facilitate this. He's never been able to leverage his on the field success with good recruiting. He's been able to keep...

MSU and OSU offenses so far ahead of Iowa-disturbing

No, he was never at UM. I think you're confusing him with Jim Herrman who was the UM DC in the late 90's. He left to be the Jets LB coach. His defenses were disappointing after '97 and it was thought he was pushed out. Tom Herman was the OC at ISU a couple of years ago and was highly thought of.
