If Iowa football got the death penalty

Let's just say they found out that Kurt had personally paid like 50 players, GarBar was in on it, etc., and they gave Iowa the death penalty in football because Delaney signed a deal with Notre Dame but wanted to keep the conference at 12 for football purposes. What new colors would you guys wear on Saturdays in the fall?

I would probably switch to purple for NU. My guess is that the results will shake out like this:

40% - Nebraska
40% - Iowa State
10% - Minnesota
1% - Wisconsin
3% - Illinois or Missourrah
1% - Northwestern
5% - Other/give up on college football

Nuh-uh. You would not wear NU colors, you are just lying to yourself. You know 100% of Iowa fans would start wearing ISU colors. As proof, I offer you this:

Included in "other." Maybe Coe, Drake and UNI would pick up more than 5% and cut into ISU's total, though.

Yeah, I know, they aren't in the same class, but I would rather follow UNI than ISU. UNI has at least come close to a national title in their division, and they are always competitive and fun to watch.

I've got too much Hawkeye stuff to just give up on them. I would root for them knowing that I would rather be fans of a team that got stripped of everything then be a fan of ISU.

I would still be a Hawkeye. I was a Hawkeye during the 70's when we were the worst team in the country. We would still play football after the penalty is over. SMU was playing football after two years of penalty.

As a kid, I cheered for FSU football, Stanford basketball, the Hawkeyes, the Lakers, the Yankees, the Cubs, and the Dolphins. I grew up in the '90's; my parents didn't try to influence who I rooted for; and, growing up in the Des Moines area, I didn't have geographic ties to anyone in particular. I was a front runner until I was about 12, then I stuck with my teams.

Damn, Iowa gets the death penalty and gets kicked out of the B10???

No longer being a B10 program would be a killer in the rebuilding process.

I would stick with Iowa but I would understand that the would basically be a MAC like program at best.
