Hawkeyes - Cornhuskers Game Thread

I'm pretty sure that we won that game (I say "we" because my fam is pretty much on the team now) because we had lunch right next to Gronowski, Dunker, and Jones.

You're welcome!

But, also I didn't wear any Hawk gear. Always better results when I don't wear gear on game day. Also, when I packed for our trip, I made sure I had perhaps my oldest pair of underwear. Always had positive outcomes, the older the underwear I wear. Also, I stopped watching for a little bit. That's seemed to help a few times the last few years.

I know at this point, I should be saving at least one pair of old lucky underwear for our mutual benefit, but even I feel I must maintain some personal standards.
So on GAMEDAY you were eating in the Bluebird next to three players. I call BS!! What, did you fly them to Lincoln after eating?

Neb did our job for us on that. They burned like 6 mins off the clock to just give us the ball back at the 20 yrd line. My gosh this game was awesome. Shut em out the 2nd half. Typical bend but don't break D. O was efficient and got some chunk plays. Having a running QB that can convert those short yardage situations AND those 3rd and 6s with designed runs is such a game changer. Why programs wouldn't try to find tough mobile qbs to run the show for them is beyond me. It's the only way to go. Big time W. Always nice to put Neb in there place
There is the injury factor to consider. Not every QB is 6' 4" 235lb & runs like a fullback. I like it as well but if the QB goes down and you don't have depth to run a similar O with the next guy in, it might not be good.

Extended replay is the best I can get. Not quite as good as re-watching an entire game, but it will have to suffice.

Beat them up and stole their lunch money, to use a very dated phrase.
I was watching a post-game reaction podcast from a Nebby fan. He was actually pretty objective about Nebby and Iowa which was refreshing. He referred to the game or the general play in the game as "felt like we were getting or shit pushed in" - paraphrase. Lol.

True it wouldn't be ideal. But neither is having a Deacon Hill being backed up by a Jackson Stratton coached by BF. I just think a mobile QB be it one similar to Mark or even smaller is the way to go. The ones like Mark fit way better into how KF likes to play because he makes converting short yardage plays easy and less risk adverse. He even made 3rd and 6s easy to call not to mention plays in the redzone where it's so much more condensed. QBs that big and mobile don't grow on trees but there are some I think Brown is 6'4 220ish that we currently have and he's not a statue either. This off season will be interesting. Do those 3 qbs we have all stay? Do any leave do we portal shop?

I also feel Lester is working to get guys in that fit his system. I don't think Gron is as bad as a passer as has been this year. In the past at SD St. he was passing around at least 65% I think I read. He might be close to that at Iowa but just didn't pass as much. He was moving the chains with his legs and there still are issues at WR at Iowa. TE was also an issue until Vonn came alive last part of season.
