Dilfer made the NFL though. No chance of that with CJ. He has two games left in his football career. I would like to see him break 100 yards once to close it out.

Then you're really calling out Kirk. Either he recruits crap at QB or won't start the better QB. You're being too hard on him. Have you forgotten what happened to the other multi-year QB starters? How do explain this is the fifth one in a row to experience this situation?

CJ has not been great, can't argue he's been off in both play and decisions. That said, both his OC and his receivers hasn't helped him out.
CJ's guts, effort, and play last year was, IMO, the difference between 12-0 and a B1G West title, and maybe 9-3. That likely bought him a lot of leniency from me. I also believe that toughness resulted in some of the issues we see this year.
CJ has his place in Hawkeye history from last year alone, even with the RB debacle, which wasn't on him.

Does CJ deserve all the blame? No way. Does he deserve no blame? No way.
His pass protection isn't great (though looked pretty okay today). His receivers get little separation and have questionable hands. Has the worst OC I've seen in a long time.
But there are still times where he doesn't make good plays. He overthrew RM on a routine play which almost got picked. Threw behind RM on a wide open crossing route, which got tipped and picked. On the bootleg pass, it appeared he had the 1st to the outside, cut it inside and got stopped. 4th and 14, throws a 7 yard route that was covered and had no chance of success.
These are just the plays I remember where he could have played better. There were plays he did make too, and these bad plays weren't totally on him. He's an average quarterback

Agreed. As is Ferentz and the WRs and other stuff. But that doesn't change the fact that CJ is not the same QB above the shoulder pads as he was last year. There are many excuses for that, but ultimately it's his noggin he is responsible for.
Davis needed to go after year one.

Agreed all around.
2 more wins and despite the issues this year, and CJ will have a excellent Hawkeye legacy. Even with 2 losses (God forbid), he will be remembered favorably.
